REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Two men facing murder charges in the death of a bouncer at a Redondo Beach bar pleaded not guilty on Monday.
Police say Rene Avina and Francisco "Frank" Cobarruvias Jr. kicked and punched Eerie Colecchi after he would not let them enter Pats II Cocktails on June 11. Colecchi died from his injuries.
Avina and Cobarruvias eventually surrendered to police. They both face murder charges.
During the arraignment held in Torrance, the judge denied a bail reduction request for Cobarruvias.
The preliminary hearing is slated for July 9.
