Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies are looking for possible victims of a man accused of stealing the identities of people from dating websites.

Authorities said Joseph Najm, 25, met victims through dating sites. While his victims were distracted, he would steal "financial instruments" and identity, police said. Najm would then use the information to purchase items and sell them on Craigslist.

During a search of a hotel room Najm shared with Jonathan Dodrill in the 1000 block of La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood Thursday, stolen items were recovered, along with victims' identities.

Najm was arrested for grand theft, and Dodrill, 20, was arrested for receiving stolen property.

Anyone who believes they might be a victim in the scam is urged to call the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station at (310) 855-8850.
