EL MONTE, Calif. (KABC) -- A car belonging to a reserve police officer was found torched in El Monte early Thursday morning.
El Monte police said the car was stolen, but it was found just after midnight. The officer's gun, which was left inside the car, is still missing. The owner is a reserve officer for the San Fernando Police Department.
He's also a firefighter for Los Angeles County. His service weapon, badge and fire equipment were left inside the car. Police said all the items are accounted for except the gun.
