Fatal shooting at Carson shopping center

CARSON, Calif. (KABC) -- A search is underway for a gunman who shot and killed a man in the parking lot of the Carson Plaza shopping center.

The deadly shooting happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday in the shopping center's parking lot located in the 600 block of East University Drive.

Investigators say the unidentified victim was sitting in a car when a suspect walked up and opened fire before running off.

Another person in the car ran to safety and was not hurt.

No word on what may have led to the shooting has been released.
