San Fernando Valley residents are being warned by Los Angeles police to not leave their garage door remote openers in their cars.

Authorities say a burglar is stealing garage door openers from vehicles and entering homes in the area.

Investigators say a man in his 20s has burglarized at least three homes in Encino in January.

Detectives say you can foil this crook by taking your garage opener inside your home with you at night.
