NORTH HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a deadly fire and explosion at a home in North Hills Thursday night.
The fire broke out at a house on the 16300 block of Plummer Street just after 9 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found the house engulfed in flames. According to neighbors, propane tanks in the backyard exploded before crews got there.
The blaze was put out in about 20 minutes. When firefighters entered the home, they found a person dead.
Neighbors said an elderly man lived at the house, but it's not clear whether he is the victim.
