CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. (KABC) -- Drivers can expect delays on the 60 Freeway this weekend as the third in a series of 55-hour closures gets underway.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, three eastbound lanes will be closed between Fullerton Road and Nogales Street in the City of Industry. The Fullerton and Nogales on-ramps and off-ramps will be closed, as well as on-ramps from Hacienda Boulevard and Azusa Avenue.
The closures, dubbed "Summer Slam" by Caltrans, will continue until 5 a.m. Monday.
Drivers can use the 10, 210 and 91 freeways as alternates.
The project involves repaving the 60 Freeway between the 605 and 57 freeways. Caltrans says the project should be completed in late 2014.
The final set of closures will take place later this month. Two eastbound lanes of the 60 Freeway will close on Friday, Aug. 23, and reopen on Monday, Aug. 26.
