LA robbery suspect dies while trying to get away

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A robbery suspect died while trying to get away, and investigators in Studio City are now looking into the death.

Detectives say the 53-year-old man stole a purse at Lankershim Boulevard and Campo De Cahuenga. He then ran to his truck and drove off.

About a block away, the truck veered off the road and hit a wooden post. When police arrived, the suspect was dead.

The coroner will conduct an investigation to figure out exactly how the man died. The purse was found in the truck.
