A young bear was captured near a Baldwin Park neighborhood Friday, but not before the animal created quite a stir.

The bear was found wandering near businesses at Puente Avenue and Ramona Boulevard around 6 a.m. Police advised nearby residents to stay in their homes.

California Fish and Wildlife officials eventually cornered the bear in a tree and tranquilized it. Officials transported the bear back to the Angeles National Forest.
