LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 14-year-old prodigy, currently a freshman at University of California, Los Angeles, says he wants to give back to the community.
Luke Harmon-Vellotti says he's found that others on campus have quickly accepted him despite his age.
"When they realize that I'm 14, they're kind of surprised, but they usually get over the initial shock right away," he said.
Luke is studying math and computer science, and his goal is to become a doctor. He says he has received many gifts, and wants to give something back to the community.
On his off time, he plays chess with his older brother, 18-year-old Carl, who is also a first-year student at UCLA.
Among his many accomplishments, Luke is an international chess master.
