Search is on for O.C. hit-and-run driver

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

The search was on Wednesday in Anaheim for a hit-and-run driver involved in an accident that nearly killed a bicyclist.

Anaheim police say the man was riding west on Broadway between Atchison and Kroeger Streets around 5:30 p.m. Monday, when a dark colored SUV or minivan struck him and kept on driving.

The unidentified 54-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Police are looking for any possible witnesses to the accident. They say the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run may have sustained damage to the right side and the right-side mirror.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at (714) 765-1961.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
