Wild Rivers Waterpark closing at the end of summer

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine is closing after this summer.

The park's lease is up at the end of October and the Irvine Company, which owns the land, plans to build apartment buildings on the site.

Wild Rivers will close October 2. However, the operators are hoping to relocate, possibly to the Orange County Great Park, about three miles away.

Wild Rivers provides hundreds of seasonal jobs for local youths.
