GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KABC) -- Pope Benedict XVI has approved the sale of Orange County's Crystal Cathedral to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange, it was announced Wednesday.
The Diocese had been in competition with Chapman University to buy the bankrupt Crystal Cathedral.
A federal judge this month approved the sale to the Diocese.
