COSTA MESA, Calif. (KABC) -- The "Wrong Way Bandit" allegedly robbed a credit union in Costa Mesa Friday, his sixth bank robbery since August, according to authorities.
Costa Mesa police were called to a reported robbery at the Nu Vision Credit Union at 2701 Harbor Blvd. at 10:40 a.m. Friday.
A suspect reportedly entered the bank, displayed a handgun and threatened a teller with it and demanded cash. The teller complied, giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was last seen running westbound through the parking lot.
The FBI believes the suspect is the "Wrong Way Bandit," who is thought to be have committed five other robberies in Tustin, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove and Costa Mesa. He reportedly used the same robbery method in each of the other incidents.
The suspect was described as a male Hispanic about 30 to 40 years old, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
In Friday's robbery, he was wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, dark shirt and black baseball cap.
