Car hits Stanton townhouse during pursuit

STANTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A brief pursuit in Stanton ended Wednesday evening with a car crashing into a townhouse and two suspects on the run.

Investigators say sheriffs deputies were trying to pull the Lexus over for a traffic violation when it sped up and crashed into the townhouse on Court Street.

Two young men escaped on foot, and the driver, a woman in her 20s, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Deputies say drugs and a gun were found inside the Lexus. The two suspects were still at large as of Wednesday night.
