A Huntington Beach man was arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed an employee of a Garden Grove community center.

Police said Trinh Nguyen, 37, went to the Free Vietnam Community Center in Garden Grove Thursday morning to see his girlfriend when he got into an argument with one of the female workers at the center.

They said that during the argument, Nguyen stabbed the victim twice in her abdomen. Another worker heard the argument and intervened. He wrestled the knife away from the suspect. Several other people came over to help hold the suspect down until police arrived.

The 37-year-old victim, whose name was not released, underwent surgery and is said to be in stable condition.
