VENTURA, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stabbed a man during an attempted strong-armed robbery in Ventura.
Authorities said Zachary Erck, 23, was sitting his car with some friends Monday night on the 200 block of East Thompson Boulevard when the suspect approached him and demanded his backpack.
A struggle ensued and the suspect stabbed Erck in the neck. The suspect, described only as a white male between 20 to 25 years old, fled the scene.
Erck was taken to Ventura County Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Anyone with information was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
