EL RIO, Calif. (KABC) -- A search is under way for whoever shot and killed a teenager in Ventura County.
Authorities said the 16-year-old boy was shot around 4 p.m. Wednesday near Stroube and Alvarado streets in El Rio.
According to Ventura County sheriff's deputies, two male suspects, in their late teens or early 20s, confronted the boy and then shot him. Deputies found the victim's body in the street.
The suspects took off in an SUV, described as an older tan Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon.
Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
