Ventura ice cream shop armed robbery suspects sought

Ventura police are searching for two suspects who robbed an ice cream shop and threatened employees with a weapon Saturday.

The robbery occurred at McConnell's Ice Cream Shop, located on the 3200 block of East Main Street, around 9:56 p.m.

According to authorities, two male suspects entered the business and demanded money from an employee. That's when authorities say one of the suspects reportedly simulated a weapon under his jacket.

The employee then complied with the suspect's demands and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled on foot.

Both of the suspects were described as two Hispanic male in their 20s. The first suspect was last seen wearing all black clothing. The second was last seen wearing a grey shirt and black pants.

No one was hurt during the armed robbery.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information was urged to contact the Ventura Police Department at (626) 339-4441.
