THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (KABC) -- Three suspects were caught in the San Fernando Valley on Tuesday after they robbed a Thousand Oaks bank in broad daylight and led authorities on a car chase, according to the Thousand Oaks Police Department.
Eric Denmark, 33, Spencer Thomas, 37, and Khristina Mancilla, 21, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, and investigators believe they are responsible for several other Southern California robberies.
Police said two men entered a bank on the corner of Moorpark Road and Hillcrest Drive on Tuesday while a woman waited outside in a white sedan. The two men jumped over the counter and allegedly took an undisclosed amount of money, and all three then fled in the car.
Witnesses described the suspects and the car, allowing deputies to locate them driving into Los Angeles on the 101 Freeway, according to police. Sheriff's deputies from both Ventura and Los Angeles counties and California Highway Patrol officers tried to stop them, and the pursuit carried over to Ventura Boulevard.
The chase ended near Winnetka Avenue and the 101 when the suspects abandoned their car and ran on foot, police said. Two suspects were captured shortly after they left the car, while a third was taken into custody after he was bitten by a sheriff's dog.
Detectives from the Thousand Oaks Police Major Crimes Unit and the FBI are continuing the investigation.
