Jogger sexually assaulted in Camarillo; suspect search underway

A female jogger was sexually assaulted in Camarillo, and a search is underway for the suspect.

The victim was jogging in the 1800 block of Daily Drive at around 6 a.m. Tuesday when a male suspect approached her from behind, grabbed her buttocks and pulled her to the ground.

When the victim struggled and screamed for help, the suspect let go and ran east toward Murray Avenue.

The jogger received only minor injuries during the attack and did not require medical attention.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a dark complexion, about 5 feet and 7 inches tall with dark, curly hair. He was wearing a dark colored beanie, gray sweatshirt or jacket and dark pants.

Witnesses in the area reported seeing a man fitting a similar description in the area prior to the attack.
