Simi Valley man stabbed; 2 brothers arrested

Two brothers have been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left a Simi Valley man injured.

Police received a call about two people fighting in the 1800 block of Ridgegate Lane in Simi Valley at 1:37 a.m. Saturday. When officers arrived at an apartment complex parking lot, they found the 21-year-old victim bleeding from the chest area, authorities said.

The victim, who was stabbed multiple times, was treated at the scene and then transported to a hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

Investigators said they developed information which indicated that Fernando and Herbert Alvarenga were involved in the stabbing. Both suspects, who are from Simi Valley, were arrested on the westbound 118 Freeway west of Tapo Canyon Road. They were later booked into the Ventura County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
