VENTURA, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities are investigating a stabbing near the Ventura River bottom Sunday morning that left a male victim wounded.
Ventura police said they received a call from the victim at 9:49 a.m. The male stated that he had walked out of the river bottom and onto the bike path near the fairgrounds when he was assaulted and stabbed.
As officers began to investigate, the victim refused to answer any questions. He was later transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries and released.
