Oxnard baseball bat-wielding robbery suspect sought

A man wielding a baseball bat robbed a 7-Eleven in Oxnard Saturday.

Police responded to the convenience store located on the 2200 block of East Channel Islands Boulevard around 3:56 a.m. following reports of a robbery.

An employee said the suspect concealed his face with a red bandana and brandished a purple or blue baseball bat. The clerk complied with the suspect's demands and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Officials say this incident marks the third occurrence of this type within the last four days.

The suspect was described as a man in his mid-20s, standing around 5 feet 7 inches with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored baseball hat, black jacket and tan pants.
