Mattel under pressure to make bald Barbie

  

AMARILLO, Texas (KABC) -- An online movement that started in Southern California is pushing Mattel to create a bald Barbie in support of children with cancer.

It's something that many moms and young girls are supporting.

Kaylee Rider, a 7-year-old girl from Texas, is battling kidney cancer that has spread to her lungs. This is her second time around with cancer. She didn't want to lose her hair again, but it happened.

She and her mom joined the cancer barbie movement .

"It lets kids know that it's OK to be bald, and that you're beautiful even though you don't have any hair. I think it's a wonderful idea," said Kaylee's mom Rachel.

Mattel hasn't responded to the movement yet, but in 2006, Mattel and the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation came up with Pink Ribbon Barbie to help raise money for cancer research.
