GREENSBORO, N.C. (KABC) -- The jury in the John Edwards corruption trial asked to see more evidence after resuming deliberations Monday.
The jury took a weekend break from the trial after beginning deliberations Friday. Testimony in the case lasted four weeks.
Edwards, a former 2008 presidential hopeful, faces 30 years in prison. He has pleaded not guilty to six campaign finance corruption charges.
Prosecutors have accused the Democrat of masterminding a scheme to cover up his mistress' pregnancy during his White House campaign. They say two wealthy donors made secret payments to the woman totaling nearly $1 million.
Neither Edwards nor his mistress took the witness stand during the trial. Defense attorneys argued their client had little direct knowledge of the cover up. Instead, they say the scheme was handled by Andrew Young, his campaign finance chairman and a trusted aide who falsely claimed paternity of Edward's baby.
