Casey Anthony forced out of seclusion for meeting in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (KABC) -- Casey Anthony has been in seclusion since she was acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, but on Monday, she was forced out of hiding.

Anthony met with the creditors in her bankruptcy case in Tampa. She was dressed in black, with her hair long and dark. Carrying a black hat, she appeared flustered as she arrived with her attorney and waded through a crowd of media.

It was her first public appearance in more than two years.

The 26-year-old filed for bankruptcy in late January. She claims to have about $1,000 in assets and close to $800,000 in liabilities. Court papers list her as unemployed with no recent income. Most of the debt is related to her criminal defense, including half a million for attorney fees and court costs.

Anthony was convicted on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement. Two of the convictions were overturned in January, the same day she filed for bankruptcy.
