Herman Cain blames media, Rick Perry for furor

Thursday, November 03, 2011

Herman Cain's team is accusing another Republican candidate of releasing information about sexual harassment allegations.

Continued questions about the accusations made the GOP presidential candidate testy when he was confronted by a crowd of reporters.

As the allegations rocked his campaign for the fourth day, the Georgia businessman's team intensified its claim that Rick Perry's campaign was the source of the initial story reported in Politico on Sunday night.

The report disclosed that the National Restaurant Association had reached financial settlements with two former employees who complained that Cain had engaged in sexually inappropriate behavior while head of the trade group in the 1990s. Cain has repeatedly denied that he sexually harassed anyone.

Perry's campaign has denied any involvement. People on Perry's team pointed the finger at yet another Republican, Mitt Romney. But Romney's campaign also denied the charge.

Meantime, a third woman is saying that Cain acted inappropriately. She said he made sexually suggestive remarks and gestures while they worked together at the restaurant association.

The woman never filed a complaint, saying she felt satisfied that other women had formally complained about his behavior.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
