NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. (KABC) -- Mitt Romney delivered his first public speech Friday since losing the presidential election.
The former governor addressed attendees at the annual 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, Md.
The 2012 GOP presidential nominee told the crowd he's sorry he's never going to be president, thanked them for their support, and offered some advice on the future of the Republican Party.
"Now, as someone who just lost the last election I am probably not in the best position to chart the course for the next one," Romney said. "But that being said let me offer this advice and perhaps because I am a former governor I would urge us all to learn lessons that come from some of our greatest success stories and that's 30 republican governors across the country."
Romney is not expected to take a leading role in charting the future of the Republican Party.
