California State University students will be able to rent textbooks at a discount, school officials announced Saturday.

Cal State officials have arranged for students and faculty to rent more than 5,000 textbooks online for 60 percent off. The books can be printed out or just viewed onscreen.

The rental program will begin this fall at the 23 campuses.

Cal State University is one of the largest university systems in the nation with 427,000 students and 43,000 faculty members.
