Oakland woman, reported missing, is a federal investigator

OAKLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- Family and friends of an Oakland woman who went missing are scouring neighborhoods looking for any sign of her.

Sandra Coke, 50, was last seen leaving her home Sunday. She reportedly told her 15-year-old daughter she was meeting with someone who had information on her missing dog.

Coke said she'd be back in 30 minutes. Her daughter called police after her mother failed to return that night.

The 50-year-old's dog, Ginny, was abducted during a break-in at her home in May. Coke had been visiting pet shelters, canvassing neighborhoods, and sending out fliers to locate the dog.

Coke's 2007 Mini Cooper and two cell phones have since been found.

Her friend and sister believe there may be foul play involved.

"I do she believe she may have been abducted," said Tanya Coke.

Coke works as an investigator for the federal public defender's officer. As part of her job, Coke, interviews convicts and their families and acquaintances, sometimes traveling to other parts of the country and even internationally. Her coworkers, however, don't believe her profession has anything to do with her disappearance.
