NEW YORK (KABC) -- President Barack Obama is the most powerful person in the world, according to Forbes magazine.
Obama takes the title from China's Hu Jintao, who topped the list last year. Jintao is now at No. 3.
To make the list, Forbes looks at things such as how many people a candidate has power over and how many financial resources they control.
Rounding out the top five are Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
