LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The highly-rated ABC7 Los Angeles iPad app has just undergone a major upgrade.
You will still get breaking news alerts, but now the app is enhanced and expanded to give you even more news, photos and videos from all over Los Angeles and Southern California.

When you launch the upgraded app, one of the first things you'll notice are the current weather conditions right on the launch screen. And then when you arrive at the home page, you'll see weather is right there on top. Even better, it's on top of every page, giving you one-click access to all the latest conditions. Plus, you can get all of our 7 Day Forecasts, watch the current video forecast, and even track storms with LIVE MEGA DOPPLER 7000 HD.
Plus -- you asked for it, and now it's here -- access live traffic maps! Just click the traffic icon at the top of every page.
The app responds to what you want, when you want it. In the morning, our home page displays quick headlines so you can check the news and be on your way. In the evening, the home page puts the best videos front and center, so you can really lean back and enjoy them.
The upgraded app makes it so quick and easy to catch up on the news. Swipe through stories with ease, and you can even share stories to Twitter and Facebook right in the app.
And it looks great! The app has been optimized for the Retina display on the new iPad.
And if you have Apple TV, now you can stream video clips and live video directly to your TV with AirPlay.
All of your favorite sections are there. Plus, now you can get sports from ESPN directly in the app. You can also catch up with celebrity news with OTRC. Stories from ABC News and Good Morning America are just a click away.
Popular ABC7 shows Eye On L.A. and Vista L.A. have their own sections, too.
The app is available now in the App Store. If you already have the ABC7 Los Angeles iPad app, go into the App Store on your iPad and download the update. If you don't have it, click here.
In the weeks to come, we will continue to improve the app and include exciting new features. We want to hear what you think -- what you like, what you don't like, and what you'd like to see. Send an e-mail to apps@abc7.com, Tweet us @abc7, or let us know on our Facebook page.
