'ABC7 Listens' visits Riverside

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

For the past seven years, our top executives have been holding community meetings at events called ABC7 Listens to get the pulse of the public.

Inland Empire Bureau Chief Rob McMillan moderated a town hall meeting in Riverside on Monday, where city officials and residents conveyed their concerns to an ABC7 executive panel headed by President and General Manager Arnold J. Kleiner.

The big issues included the city's financial problems and crime. There have been three recent homicides in Riverside.

Kleiner began the meeting with a tribute to longtime Inland Empire Bureau Chief Bob Banfield, who passed away last month after a long battle with cancer.

Are there issues and concerns in your community you would like ABC7 to know about? You can request an ABC7 Listens meeting in your town by e-mailing the station at abc7communitymeeting@abc.com
