LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Sections of the Interstate 405 Freeway will be closed to motorists Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) said Tuesday.
Southbound lanes will be closed between the Getty Center on-ramp and Sunset Boulevard Tuesday night. Closures will begin at 10 p.m. Full closure will last between midnight and 5 a.m.
Northbound lanes will be closed between Moraga Drive and the Getty Center on-ramp Wednesday night. Closures will begin at 10 p.m. Full closure will last between midnight and 5 a.m.
Closures of the southbound Getty Center on-ramp and the northbound Montana Avenue on-ramp may start as early as 7 p.m. and will be coordinated with Caltrans, according to Metro.
Metro recommends Sepulveda Boulevard as a detour route for each closure.
Survey work as part of the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project will be conducted.
Further work is scheduled to begin Thursday for two consecutive days, according to Metro, at the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Montana Avenue. Anticipated work hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As a result the northbound Sepulveda Boulevard right-turn pocket onto eastbound Montana will be closed during those work hours. The Montana off-ramp also will be closed during those work hours.
CORRECTION: This article originally stated that northbound lanes would be closed Thursday night. That information has been updated.
