SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire burned in Simi Valley Thursday afternoon.
The fire broke out in the hills near Los Angeles Avenue and Stearns Street.
The fire scorched about 30 acres and briefly threatened homes. But Ventura County firefighters, backed by bulldozer crews and aerial drops, had the flames contained in a short time.
