CASTAIC, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire in the hills above Castaic has been fully contained and knocked down by firefighters.
The fire erupted shortly before 9 p.m. Friday near The Old Road and Victoria Road. More than 100 firefighters battled flames from the air and on rugged terrain from the ground. Crews knocked down the blaze at about 10:40 p.m., fire officials said.
Firefighters were hoping to knock the fire down before Saturday's temperatures spiked in the heat wave.
Authorities said no buildings were threatened. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
