Amanda Perez

Amanda Perez
Amanda joined Action News as a reporter in January of 2006. She comes to Fresno from KAVU-TV in Victoria, Texas where she produced and anchored the evening newscasts. It was there Amanda covered the nation's deadliest human smuggling tragedy and got blown around in her first Hurricane. Victoria was also close to home for Amanda — her friends and family members in El Campo, Texas were able to watch her every night.

Amanda is a graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where she majored in Radio/Television. Amanda's studies there led her to Houston, Texas, where she interned for Clear Channel Radio and later worked as a promotions assistant. During her senior year at SHSU, she was awarded with the school's Dan Rather internship, allowing her to travel to New York City and work at CBS News/48 Hours. Before landing her first on-air job in Victoria, Amanda worked as an editor at KPRC-TV in Houston.

Amanda is both excited and honored to be working with the experienced staff at Action News and is looking forward to exploring all that California has to offer. She lives in Clovis with her husband, Jay, and their spoiled-rotten dog, Kisses.
