Christine Park

Christine Park co-anchors Midday at 11am with Jason Oliveira and Live at 4pm with Graciela Moreno. She is also the Consumer Reporter for Action News. She was awarded five regional Emmy award in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 for her news reporting and anchoring on Action News AM Live and Action News Midday. She was also nominated for two other Emmys, one for a 2005 special report on how Modesto law enforcement reduced their auto theft rate through the use of "bait" cars. The other, was a 2006 investigation into a local wedding photographer who took dozens of couples pictures then disappeared with their money. Her report launched an investigation by the District Attorney's office and retrieved thousands of pictures for the victims. Since then, she has investigated two other photographers in Visalia and Clovis who also owed their clients money and pictures& both times her reports led to the recovery of the clients' precious memories.

Christine's reporting career has also taken her flying with the world-renown Blue Angels, to Hawaii to board a naval aircraft carrier returning from the Iraq war, and to Las Vegas to cover the world's largest consumer electronics show. In 2007, she was on the front lines of the destructive California wildfires, as new fires broke out and Valley firefighters helped save lives and homes. In March 2010 she served as the lead live reporter from the funerals of the Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy and Reedley Police Officer killed in the line of duty by an arson suspect in Minkler.

Christine joined ABC-30 in October 2000 and is excited and honored to be doing the job of her dreams so close to home. The Clovis West graduate originally planned for a career in medicine, but a failed chemistry class made her quickly realize her true calling lay elsewhere. A summer internship at a local TV station, and she was hooked on TV news. So she changed her major to Mass Communications and graduated with honors from UC Berkeley. Out of college, she was hired as a Production Assistant and Newsroom Trainee at KRON-TV in San Francisco. Prior to her current position at ABC-30, she was the Special Projects Producer and Weekend Assignment Editor.

Christine earned her Master's Degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from Fresno State and in 2006 was honored as the top graduate student in the department. She was also a Dean's Medalist nominee. For several semesters she taught broadcast writing and reporting to undergraduate students there.

She currently lives in Fresno with her husband and two young children. In her free time she likes to scrapbook, decorate her home, sing karaoke, shop for bargains, eat Korean food, read and, of course, watch the news. And she dislikes birds, clowns, and scary movies.
