Shannon Handy

Shannon Handy
Shannon Handy joined the ABC30 Action News Team in November 2008. She began her career working as an editor and sports producer at the NBC affiliate in San Diego. From there, Shannon went on to work as a reporter and anchor at KRCR, the ABC affiliate in Redding, California. While in the North State, she covered President George W. Bush's visit to Redding, the historic 2008 Lightning Fires and spent a day as an inmate at the Shasta County Jail for an in-depth story about incarceration.

Shannon graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. During her time there, Shannon spent a semester studying in Madrid, Spain, where she perfected her Spanish-speaking skills. She was also a member of an Emmy-nominated news team at San Diego City College.

Shannon has traveled the world, visiting places like South America, Europe and Australia. A native San Franciscan, she is excited to explore Central California.

When she's not traveling, Shannon spends her free time at the gym, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
