Matt spent more than two years as a morning news anchor in Norfolk, Virginia during a very interesting time. During his tenure, he covered the 2007 Virginia Tech campus shootings, the Michael Vick dog fighting case, and several tropical storms. He was also anchoring during a Navy air show, in which a plane crashed. His work was honored with an Edward R. Murrow award for best spot news coverage for large markets.
From 1997-2005, Matt anchored the evening newscasts at KHSL-TV/KNVN-TV in Chico, California. Matt is a graduate of Biola University in La Mirada, California.
Matt is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but is happy to be in the Central Valley where he has some deep family roots. His grandfather owned and operated the Hanford dairy and as kids, his father and three uncles were the labor. They delivered milk bottles door to door in Hanford.
In his free time, Matt enjoys reading, hanging out with his dog, Rufus, playing sports, and watching a good movie.
