The latest discovery of a pest with the potential to devastate the Valley citrus crop caught ag officials by surprise. Two Asian citrus psyllids were found in traps in a Dinuba neighborhood on Tuesday.
The move comes after Chinese officials say six shipments bound for China contained a quarantined disease not found in that country. Fruit already on its way will be evaluated to see if it can enter the Chinese market.
