It's move-in day for the sea lions at Fresno's Chaffee Zoo.
The Sea Lion Cove welcomed its new residents: Ariel the harbor seal, and two brown pelicans, which were rescued from the coast. This is first time since the 80s the zoo has had pelicans.
One by one the animals were released into the new enclosure, an enormous 240-thousand gallon pool, which is modeled after the landscape of the central coast. That's eight times bigger than their current home.
Crews have been working on the exhibit for the past year. They expect to have the project complete and ready for visitors by the end of August.
