Fresno's Marjaree Mason Center prepares to honor ten amazing women who've made a difference in their communities
Top Ten Professional Women and Top Business Awards Luncheon
October 22, 2009
Doors open at 11:00am, program runs from 11:30am-1:00pm
Earnest E. Valdez Exhibit Hall Fresno, California
For 26 years now, the Marjaree Mason Center has paid tribute to women who have served as role models and given back to their communities, all while making strides in their professions.
One business will also be honored as the Top Business of the Year for its support of women and women's issues.
Proceeds from the event go to support services to victims of domestic violence, including shelter, legal assistance, counseling, and crisis support, all provided by the Marjaree Mason Center.
More victims of domestic violence are seeking services than ever before. Domestic violence is up 30% in the City of Fresno, compared to this same time last year. Police link this dramatic increase to the state's economic crisis. Meanwhile, services for victims are also being cut due to state budget cuts.
This event is also the Marjaree Mason Center's largest annual fundraiser, held every October because October is domestic violence awareness month.
Tickets to the luncheon are $60 per person, or $575 for a table of 10.
