All proceeds benefit the annual LMAW Scholarship Fund

Annually this Brunch and Fashion Show raises money to support deserving students as they further their educational aspirations. Over the years LMAW has given more than $300,000 in scholarships. Awards go to students of varying talents and abilities including students often overlooked by many, but recognized by LMAW to show promise. Some scholarship recipients do not attend four year institutions but instead attend two year or technical colleges. While LMAW recognizes those students who excel academically, LMAW knows that a successful individual is not always at the top of his or her class.

The League of Mexican American Women is a community based organization that was established in 1973 by women who were previously involved in community service, social program and politics but rarely in a leadership capacity. The mission of the League is to provide programs and services that address the issues impacting Latinas in Fresno County. LMAW provides women with the opportunity to lead and develop the tools, financial and personal, that they require to address these issues. League has always kept in mind and has not abandoned our Mexican culture, which provides a sense of pride and self-esteem for our community and the next generation.
