Atwater Police are trying to piece together what happened seconds before a deadly accident at a busy intersection.

The crash happened Monday afternoon at Bellevue and Shaffer Road.

Witnesses said 60-year-old Beverly Paschall was driving more than 60 miles an hour when she crashed, narrowly missing a McDonald's Restaurant.

Paschall died. Her two granddaughters ages 9 and 6 years old and Pashcall's 8-month-old grandson were riding with her. They were rescued by witnesses waiting in a nearby drive thru.

Friends said it is completely out of character for Paschall to drive fast or erratic. Two of the children were airlifted to U.C. Davis Medical Center. All three children were last listed in serious condition.
