Pumpkins on track for Halloween season

Monday, August 20, 2012

Halloween is still months away, but pumpkin farmers are already preparing for the holiday.

Most pumpkins grown for jack-o'-lanterns are planted in late spring and early summer. Farmers report pumpkins are growing well this year. Pumpkin growers say when the season arrives, families will have healthy pumpkins available to them.

Farmers say the drought didn't affect the pumpkins as much as they first thought.
