Pumpkins in short supply for Halloween

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Pumpkins will be in short supply and cost more for Halloween.

Ag officials say dry and hot weather is hurting the annual crop across the country. Extreme weather nearly wiped out the entire crop in Coal Valley, Illinois. Ag officials say retail prices could jump 30-percent.

While drought drives up the cost of growing pumpkins, it will likely cut into sellers' profits.
