Rice harvest may be the same as last year

Friday, November 02, 2012

The rice harvest in California is almost complete to the point where growers say this year's crop is looking great.

Ag officials say rice growers in the Sacramento Valley are about two-thirds of the way through the harvest where farmers say the crop is looking good so far.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture anticipates that after a slow start, the California rice crop will come near to matching last year's totals.
