FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Very destructive fruit flies are now permanently established in California.
A recent study says the Mediterranean fruit fly and the oriental fruit fly are still around after decades of efforts to get rid of them.
Researchers say the flies' populations are currently low, but they warn that California's agriculture industry could be devastated if the state doesn't act on the problem.
